She started her professional life as a researcher within the TUBİTAK project, in 1995 and after a year she joined Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı, Exploration Group as a geological engineer. During 1996-2004 she played active role as a subsurface geologist of exploration projects and generated prospects and drilled exploration wells. During 2004-2009 she was responsible from the bidding rounds of Iraqi projects feasibility studies as new ventures manager and acquired blocks in these bidding rounds. During the same period, she was the exploration manager of various domestic and international projects where she had drilled exploration wells and made discoveries. Within the same time period she was member of the Education Commission on behalf of Exploration Group and prepared the educational strategies and qualifications of technical human resources of Exploration Group. She was also responsible from the presentation of the Exploration Group activities to the Board in board meetings.
In 2009 she joined Çalık Enerji as Exploration and New Ventures Manager, and she managed to acquire two exploration blocks in Kurdish Regional Government and she was a member in the Management Committee of the licenses. During the same period, she also acquired numerous exploration blocks in Southeastern Anatolia and represented the company successfully in finding foreign partner to these blocks. She was responsible for execution of exploration budget as an exploration manager and host government relations. She had generated and drilled numerous prospects as an exploration geologist in her career and discovered hydrocarbons. She carried various negotiations and feasibility studies on behalf of the company about blocks located East Africa, North Africa, Middle East and Turkmenistan. She is highly experienced in negotiation of production sharing and service contracts and Iraq.
Through her career path, she became expert in economic analysis and portfolio management in oil and gas business in upstream. She is lecturing the “Economics of Energy Resources” in Middle East Technical University. Also, she is invited to give lectures about energy and petroleum in ELSA Law School and various educational platforms. She is asked to give key note speeches in various international conferences and also she holds a column with a wide circulation energy gazette and a science column in a monthly magazine. She is founder and Vice President of Association of Geological Researches. She was graduated from Middle East Technical University Geological Engineering Department in 1995 and she holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree on carbonates from the same department.
